Pick your battles inspiration

Pick your battles inspiration

Learning to pick your battles wisely is something that will truly bring less stress to your life. Life is filled with opportunities to choose between making a big deal out of something or simply letting it go, realizing that it doesn't really matter. If you pick your battles wisely, you will be far more effective in winning those that truly are important.

There will be times when you will want or need to argue, confront , or even fight for something you believe in. Many people, however, argue, confront, and fight over practically anything. I honestly believe that some people just look for fights and turn relatively small things into battles. Life is too short for all of that. There is so much frustration in living this type of life that you lose track of what is really important.

The tiniest disagreement can be made into a big deal if your goal is have everything work out in your favor. This is nothing more than a prescription for unhappiness and frustration.

Life is rarely exactly the way we want it to be, and other people often don't act as we would like them to. This is life. We like some things and we don't like other things. There are always going to be people who disagree with you, people who do things differently, and things that simply don't work out. If you fight this fact of life, you will spend most of your life fighting a losing battle.

A more peaceful way to live is to decide which battles are worth fighting and which are better left alone. If you make your primary goal to live a less stressed life and not to have everything work out in your favor, you will find that most battles that you choose not to fight actually end up bringing you more of a peaceful feeling.

Most of the things that people end up fighting over are so stupid if you really think about it. Is it really important that you prove to your spouse or partner that you are right and they are wrong? Don't you love that person? Why is it really that important? Does a small scratch on your car really need to turn into a drawn out suit in small claims court? Does your preference of which restaurant or movie that you go to matter enough to really argue over it? Say you spend an hour arguing over which movie to go to and you win the battle. Let's say that your movie was the Batman movie and some random shooter just started killing people at that movie while you were there? Say your loved one was shot during that shooting spree- Would you feel good about winning that stupid battle? No- You would end up regretting fighting that battle.

Don't fight over stupid things. Again, Life is too short and you just cause yourself more stress.

When you make the choice to pick your battles wisely, there will come a day when you rarely feel the need to do battle at all.

Have a great evening friends.

Enjoy
